Separate spaces were created for each specialty, facilitating a harmonious mixture of complimentary businesses, allowing space for each tenant to thrive.
Brett, the owner at Team Dental, talks us through how the process went with the MON team.
“The MON team were excellent to work with throughout the process, they had a really personable approach to the process, and really nothing was going to be a problem. They always did what they said they would. The building is working really well for us, and business is good!
This was a Greenfield business, so it was always going to take time to build our customer base and would not have worked without MON’s assistance. The location was excellent for a dental practise and MON were very helpful with contributing costs for the fit out and a four month rental holiday.
We were involved in the design process from the outset, working with an architect to design the fit out. A dental practise also requires a lot of subfloor services, so MON had these sorted before the floor slab was poured.

“MON are the best developers we’ve worked with. It helps that you’re dealing with the owners. A lot of times you’re leasing a building where the developers don’t have too much knowledge, but these guys are running the whole thing from the ground, keeping an eye on everything and are really experienced. Their fairness in negotiations was outstanding, they genuinely wanted a win-win for everyone involved and were really flexible.
We have done five pharmacies like this from the ground up. What we look at first is the calibre of the developer to make sure they’re able to deliver what they say they will. We were very confident that MON would deliver a good product for us to lease.
The MON team were really professional to deal with, and we highly recommend them for all ventures. The process of negotiating the lease was defined really well from the outset; we knew exactly what they were going to do, and what our responsibilities were.
The fit out process was really good, the MON team were on the ground most of the time overseeing our contractors. It was good to know that someone was there who would be on our side, they really worked together with us as a team. Because we’re Auckland based, Johnny helped manage our fit out. He went out of his way to give site access to the tradies, and introduced us to excellent contractors. He even cleaned up the site rubbish, they really went above and beyond.
I’m a property developer and I can say the quality of the building is exceptional. It helps that the building looks modern, which makes it more inviting for customers and means the pharmacy can become a retail destination as well, rather than just offering prescriptions. This has definitely contributed to the success of the business.
